谈到汉英翻译，本人谈不来很深的见解，下面的适合和初级入门的译者分享。 1.中文功底是根本 首先你的本国国语基础要扎实，才能正确理解原文的意思，进而得出正确的译文比如“爱莫能助”，有些人一看到可能理解为“喜爱但无力帮助”进而翻译成英语“love but unable to help”.在此误将“爱”理解为喜爱，“爱”在此的意思是同情，因此应翻译为“be sympathetic but have no ability to help”。又如“万人空巷”，可能会被译者理解为“街巷空无一人”，从而翻译成“nobody in town”其实中文的正确意思是“居民都从街巷里面走了出来。”正确的翻译是“All the people of the place have turned out to… ” 这些都是因为中文功底不够全面造成的。所以中文功底一定要扎实，即使遇到看似简单的词语，也要确保理解正确，切不可凭感觉。 2.要以对方为主，不可主观自我 我们翻译的时候不能考虑自己国家的用语习惯，而是要考虑到译文对象国家的用语习惯，也就是说要站在外国人的习惯方面来进行翻译，才能得出地道的译文。比如我们接电话的时候，通常我们的习惯是“您好，请问哪位？”我们可能会直接翻译成“hello，who are…
