About the projec:t

The Client has an English guide to bereavement that need to be translated English into Hongkong Chinese. The translation is going to get a lot of exposure. It will be on public display and will be read by a lot of people. Needs to be perfect and convey an accessible, friendly, supportive feel to recently bereaved visitors.

Challenge:

There are some small locked images sin the document; It should be translated by putting a text box over the image. Please honour the formatting and page breaks in the target text. If the source text contains three pages, then the target text should also contain three pages. If the target language ‘swells’ then please reduce the font size accordingly. The formatting must also be replicated in the target file (e.g. a word formatted in bold in the source file should equally be formatted in bold in the target file) Retain the project files names but add the language code to the end of the file name.

Our Solution:

Since this is a quality rather than a quantity job, we paid close attention to every details from planning, assignment, translation, reviewing and QA. CCJK selected a qualified Hongkong native translator who is chief editor of a famous news agency to take up this job. This expertise ensures that both the linguistic and technical aspects of our translations are of excellence. During the translation, the translator applied translation memory tools (Trados or other translation aid tools) to ensure consistency, both internally and with previous client material. After the translation get done, our reviewer and QA specialist emphasized to check the consistent style, readability, layout, typesetting, tiny mistakes of the final file, etc

The rigid working process ensured a worry free service to our client.
