Japanese language introduction

Japanese is the official language of Japan and Palau. Currently this language is spoken by over 130 million people in both Japan and Japanese emigrant communities. Japanese consists of four distinct systems of writing: kanji, hiragana, katakana and romaji.

kanji is written as Chinese characters, which was imported from China in the 6th century AD and has developed ever since. Hiragana and katakana are two syllabic scripts made up of modified Chinese characters.

Hiragana is the most original writing system in Japan while katakana is used to write foreign words. The Latin alphabet, romaji is more and more often used in modern Japanese, especially for company names and logos, advertising, and when entering Japanese text into a computer.

The language structure of Japanese differs from any other languages. The sentence order is classified as Subject Object Verb. It follows the strict rule of the verb being placed at the end of a sentence. The other elements of the sentence can be in various orders or possibly omitted.

“During the run-up to an EU trade mission I found myself under pressure to have two highly technical documents translated into Japanese.

I contacted CCJK Technologies and received a response to my request for a quote in less than an hour. Once the work was underway their agent kept in constant touch with me via email. The work was completed on time and with a great deal of care and attention. Their proofreaders even re-checked the documents after I reformatted the text.

I will use CCJK Technologies in the future and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for language translation services.”
