Catalan Language Introductory

Catalan (Català) is also called as Valencià, blongs to Romance language of Indo-European Family. It’s the the national and the only official language of Andorra (d’Andorra), and a co-official language in the Spanish autonomous communities of Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and Valencian Community.

It is also spoken, with no official recognition, in the autonomous communities of Aragon (in La Franja) and Murcia (in Carche) in Spain. Until 1990, Catalan was legally recognized to some degree in Aragon, but it’s still a non-official languge in other areas where most of people speak Catalan.

With many conjunct characterics as Gaul-Romance languages and Pyre-Romance languages, it was just a special dialect of Occitan at the very beginning.
