What should we do when we come across the HTML file?

More and more enterprises are much willing to show themselves by many ways like advertising, sales promotion, website-exhibits no matter what fields they belong to, clothes, food, manufactory, tourism and so on.

So website translation is becoming a common translation way nowadays. CCJK, as a professional translation and localization company, aims to provide those website translations and build a localized website for our client around the world.

When we get a website translation order, the process will be translating, editing, proofreading and building the website. We usually get the translated file in HTML form from our client. In this passage let us know how to handle HTML file. We can divided the process into 4 sections: Save—Setting Tag—Translating (TEP)—Cleanup

Save:

To keep the original marks and not to destroy them, we suggest that the HTML file should be saved as a TTX form. Because it is possible that the tag will be destroyed by some reason like different version of Trados and others. So it is better way if we can send the ttx file to our translator. The way is very simple. What you do is as follows:

—–Open Tageditor

—–Pull the HTML files into the Tageditor

—–Click “save” button and then a ttx comes into being.

—–Click the small “close” button, not the big “close” See attached Image:

Other html files also follow the same process

Then you will find the ttx files come into being in the same HTML file folder.

Setting Tag:

This step is the most important one of the four steps. If we made a mistake in the step, the translated file will not be cleaned up back to the HTML file. Now let us look at this:

—-Open the TM

—-Select “Option” button

—-Select “Translation Memory Options”

—-Select “Tools”

—-Select “Tag Settings…”

—- and then we enter into a interface selecting the ini file, after selcting the ini file clicking “Default” and then “OK”

By doing these processes, we have finished Tag setting. Now we should let our translator start working.

Translating

This step decides directly the quality of the file, so we will choose those NATIVE Target language-speaking translators, ensuring the translated file is as accurate as possible. After translation, an experienced editor will imported to the second process—editing the translated files comparing with English source file, eliminating wrong and uncompleted translation. And then, we will let the third party to proofread the edited files, checking the typo, wrong word order, format and so on. That is TEP process (Translating, Editing and Proofreading) we promised to our clients, ensuring high quality.

Cleanup:

After finished the above three steps, what we should do is to cleanup the ttx file by Trados. And then the cleaned target HTML files will automatically come into being. Now we could deliver the completed HTML files in target language to our engineering department.

Besides HTML form files, we also could handle PHP, txt, pdf and other forms files.
