Brazil,the new emerging market for SNS game
In recent years, with the rapid economic and technological development, Brazil has become the fastest social development in games and online games of the South America countries. However, due to concerns over the U.S. and Asian markets, gaming companies occasionally lose interest in emerging markets such as Brazil. According to the Brazilian game developers association’s data, there is a huge consumer market in the Brazil game industry, but only a small part of it has been developed. Annual income of the world’s game industry is about 50 billion U.S. dollars, while in Brazil the game industry revenue is only 3.5 million.So the Brazil market still has a huge room waiting ahead of gaming companies.
Brazil, the country can not achieve as the No.1 gaming country in South America without government support.In 2008 the world game industry income is 500 million, Brazil’s gaming industry revenues is only 3.5 billion U.S. dollars, it is this situation made the Brazilian government decided to vigorously support the game industry to enable the first gaming country in the South American,thus become the No.1 country of game producer in South America.
Back in 2009, the Brazilian government had launched the “Brazil’s game plan,” and will invest 1.074 million reais (U.S. $ 430,000) to promote the development of the Brazilian gaming industry. 80% of the budget funds raised by the Government. The purpose of this project is to enable the rapid development of Brazil’s games ,and make sure that this industry in Brazil does not lag behind the global market, as in the United Kingdom and other countries, the game industry has become more important music and video entertainment industries.
With 350 million people in the Central and South American, Spanish market is very potential in emerging markets. The economy and network-related infrastructure in Central and South American market have not yet developed, but, given the scale of Internet cafes in Brazil, Peru, the rapid increase of young population and the adjusted import tariffs of dashboard game machines (such as PS3, Xbox) and other factors conditions, we can predict that the future Central and South American online game market will have a great development.
According to the survey, Banan U.S. monthly unique users from the game in June 2007 of 53.6 million, with an increase from April 2008 to 61.6 million, and with the development of the online gaming industry continues to grow. Brazil is Latin America’s largest SNS market.
